Job summary

JLL is seeking a Data Center Engineer for our Totowa, NJ facility. The role focuses on maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing critical data center infrastructure—UPS, generators, PDUs, cooling, and building systems—to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency.

You will work with BMS and DCIM platforms, track KPIs like PUE, and support expansion and change-management initiatives. On-site, with swing shifts and on-call duties, it offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
3-5 years of data center operations or related facilities management.
Hands-on experience with mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain critical data center infrastructure (UPS, generators, PDUs, CRAC/CRAH, chillers).
Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled and per manufacturer guidance.
Inspect facilities to identify issues before they impact operations.
Respond to alarms, troubleshoot, and restore service.
Maintain logs of maintenance activities, performance metrics, and incidents.
Monitor BMS and DCIM to track environmental conditions and power usage.
Participate in planned maintenance, upgrades, and projects.
Coordinate with vendors during installations and commissioning.
Support on-call rotations and disaster recovery exercises.
