Job summary

JLL in Carlstadt, NJ is seeking a Data Center Operating Engineer to maintain building systems critical to operations. You will perform repairs, run preventive maintenance, and support safe, efficient facility performance.

A Union Local 68 member or willingness to join is required. Responsibilities include operating mechanical, electrical and control systems, learning building control and UPS systems, and maintaining accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 4+ years in building maintenance or trade school in HVAC/electrical.
• Universal CFC certification (or within 90 days).
• Proficient with ladders, lifts, hand tools, voltmeter and safety gear.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair and operate mechanical, electrical and power generation equipment and systems.
• Operate systems safely following SOPs, government regulations and MOP/EOP guidelines.
• Learn building control, electrical and UPS systems via on‑the‑job training.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine service requests per PM program.
• Inspect pumps, fans, valves and motors for proper operation.
