Job summary

JLL in Orangeburg, NY seeks an Operating Engineer - Critical Environments to maintain uptime of facility systems in a data center. Requires expertise in electrical, HVAC, piping/plumbing, or central utility plant operations, plus multi-skill capabilities. Night shift on a 4-day work week.

Responsibilities include monitoring alarms, preventive maintenance, CMMS management, and coordinating with vendors and tenants to ensure continuous operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 4+ years of related work experience with systems, emergency generators, and switchgears.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, procedures and codes.

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform preventive maintenance on data center systems including electrical, mechanical, and safety equipment.
• Monitor alarms and adjust equipment to prevent downtime and ensure uptime.
• Record readings and troubleshoot to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Manage CMMS work orders and coordinate with vendors and tenants.
