Job summary

Sundt Construction in Texas is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to direct and coordinate program activities from conceptual stage through the life-cycle of a project, providing subcontractors, management, and customers with setup and commissioning knowledge to ensure economical engineering support.

The role requires a BA/BS in engineering, PE/FE preferred, and about five years in commissioning, with knowledge of SCA, PECI or ASHRAE procedures.

Qualifications

• BA/BS Engineering degree or equivalent work experience required.
• FE designation through the NCEES or PE license preferred.
• 5 years of experience in the commissioning field including performance contracting requirements preferred.
• Proficiency in SCA, PECI and/or ASHRAE commissioning procedures preferred.
• Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Responsibilities

• Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
• Conduct commissioning coordination meetings as needed with the owner, project management, contractor, and other commissioning team members as defined in the commissioning plan.
• Ensures all construction engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives.
• Experience with commissioning & start-up engineering as well as related systems.
• Find ways to reduce operating and maintenance costs, improve the comfort of a building's occupants and extend the life of the equipment.
• Improve, refine, and augment Sundt's commissioning procedures and documentation to enhance the commissioning team processes.
• Manage project specific pre-start, start-up, and test-adjust-balance, and commissioning fieldwork.
• Monitor the latest industry trends and share knowledge with commissioning team members.
• Provides input to strategic decisions that affect commissioning and start-up engineering support.
• Verify the operation of the systems in the commissioning scope, including establishing acceptance criteria, obtaining completed reports from the installing vendor, and direct performing testing and verification.
