Job summary

Sundt Construction is seeking an MEP Specialist to lead coordination of MEP trades on major projects. You will partner with the project team to ensure successful installation and commissioning of MEP systems, and to guide subcontractors from ground-break through turnover.

The role requires hands-on scheduling, site reviews, and strong knowledge of codes and LEED commissioning credits. You will collaborate with the CxA and project leadership to deliver quality, on-time results.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience (Step I) and 6–9 years of experience (Step II) in Construction/MEP Coordination.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
• Experience with MEP subcontracts and subcontractors.
• Good understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes and Plumbing Codes as they relate to construction.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and low-voltage systems.
• MEP Specialist Step I will ideally have 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer.
• MEP Specialist Step II will ideally have 6–9 years total as Project Engineer and Superintendent and experience coordinating MEP systems on large-scale projects.
• In-depth knowledge of LEED, especially commissioning credits.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and Primavera P6.

Responsibilities

• Assist with CPM scheduling for all MEP installation activities, including cost and resource loading.
• Assist in developing startup plans and commissioning of MEP systems.
• Review subcontractor installations for quality and resolve issues with project team.
• Coordinate procurement and progress reporting with Project Manager and field staff.
• Facilitate 3D coordination to resolve conflicts before installations begin.
• Interface with CxA and manage commissioning documentation.
• Lead MEP subcontractors from groundwork through turnover to owner.
• Provide warranty support and address open items.
• Represent Sundt Construction at Owner and contractor meetings.
• Review MEP submittals for compliance with design criteria and contract.
• Support project logistics and approval of MEP materials/equipment.
