Job summary

Jacobs Advanced Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager - Mechanical to bridge design and on-site construction for major industrial projects. This role supports multiple U.S. locations with travel up to 50% and prefers candidates near a Jacobs office.

The successful candidate will lead constructability reviews, develop mechanical bid packages, and coordinate with internal teams and outside contractors to ensure full scope coverage and efficient project delivery.

Qualifications

• 8 years experience in Mechanical engineering or 15 years experience in construction management for industrial projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience.
• General understanding of construction means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting mechanical design drawings and specifications for construction.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in resolving in-progress design/constructability concerns.
• Identify schedule and cost savings opportunities based on design or modularization.
• Identify trade partners for early contractor engagement through design phase.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of mechanical scope for construction sequencing.
