Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a seasoned Preconstruction Manager - Mechanical to bridge design and on-site construction for major industrial projects in the U.S. You will drive constructability, sequencing, and bid-package development for HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection work.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in mechanical engineering or 15+ years in construction mgmt, plus a bachelor’s in engineering. Travel and leadership required across multiple sites and projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience.
• 8 years in mechanical engineering or 15 years in industrial construction mgmt.
• Understanding of construction means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting mechanical drawings and specs for construction.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to resolve design/constructability issues and disputes.
• Identify schedule and cost savings opportunities from design or modularization.
• Engage trade partners early through design phase.
• Organise cross-discipline evaluation of mechanical scope and sequencing.
• Identify risks for long lead activities and align with schedules.
• Develop and review bid packages for contractor award.
• Coordinate WBS across stakeholders to cover complete scope.
• Review VDR submittals for constructability and impacts.
