KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing seeks a skilled Mechanical Estimator for a major data center project in the Lubbock area. You will prepare conceptual through forecast estimates, perform quantity takeoffs for piping, valves, fittings, and related systems, and review vendor quotations to manage scope and costs.

You’ll coordinate with operations, engineering, procurement, and field leadership to ensure accurate estimates and smooth handoffs through bid and execution, including value

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical estimating or related fields.
• Data center or mission-critical estimating experience.
• Ability to develop labor, material, equipment, subcontract, and indirect cost estimates.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and schedules.
• Advanced spreadsheet skills and experience with estimating or takeoff software.

Responsabilités

• Prepare conceptual, schematic, design-development, bid, change-order, and forecast estimates for mechanical scopes.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for piping, valves, fittings, supports, insulation, equipment, plumbing, fuel systems, and related work.
• Estimate labor hours, productivity, equipment, indirect costs, escalation, contingency, and schedule impacts.
• Request and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations, documenting inclusions, exclusions, qualifications, and commercial risks.
• Review drawings, P&IDs, specifications, equipment schedules, BIM information, and client requirements for scope completeness.
• Prepare estimate summaries, bid tabs, basis-of-estimate narratives, clarifications, and handoff information.
• Support value engineering, constructability reviews, procurement planning, buyout, change management, and estimate-to-actual reviews.
• Maintain cost history and production data for data center cooling and mechanical systems.
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, procurement, project controls, vendors, and field leadership.
