Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for Mission Critical Projects to lead design and coordination of mechanical systems for data centers and other high-performance facilities.

You will collaborate with architects and engineers, perform HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection calculations, and oversee BIM coordination using Revit MEP. This role requires extensive experience in data centers and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
• 10+ years in an MEP/integrated design firm on commercial/public projects with HVAC, plumbing and fire protection.
• 5+ years of design experience related to data centers.
• Proven experience designing HVAC, plumbing and fire protection on complex projects.
• Experience with BIM workflows (e.g. Autodesk Revit MEP).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients within the integrated design process.
• Create and coordinate documents using Revit.
• Perform mechanical/HVAC calculations including code research.
• Perform plumbing/fire protection calculations including code research.
• Write and review specifications.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals.
• Conduct site visits as needed.
• Manage mechanical/project teams or interdisciplinary teams.
