Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer focused on data center projects. The role involves designing, coordinating, and implementing mechanical systems for high-performance facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection within complex projects.

You will work closely with architects and engineers, create Revit documents, perform code-driven calculations, and participate in site visits and team management. Offices listed across major U.S. locations are eligible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• 10+ years in an MEP or integrated design firm on complex commercial/public projects (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection).
• 5+ years of design experience related to data centers.
• Proven experience designing HVAC, plumbing and fire protection on complex projects.
• Ability to communicate across disciplines and manage design processes.
• Experience with BIM workflow using Revit MEP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients in an integrated design process.
• Create and coordinate documents using Revit.
• Perform mechanical/HVAC calculations including code research.
• Perform plumbing/fire protection calculations including code research.
• Write and review specifications.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs and submittals.
• Conduct site visits when needed.
• Manage mechanical or interdisciplinary project teams.
