Job summary

DLR Group seeks a Mechanical Engineer for Mission Critical Projects to design and coordinate HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems for data centers and similar facilities.

The role requires collaboration with architects and clients, BIM/Revit workflows, performing calculations, writing specs, reviewing submittals, and leading project teams. Bachelor's in Mechanical/Architectural Engineering and 10+ years in MEP are required; data center focus 5+ years preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in an MEP or integrated design firm on complex projects.
• 5+ years of design experience related to data centers.
• Experience with BIM workflows (e.g. Autodesk Revit MEP).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects, engineers and clients as part of an integrated design process.
• Create and coordinate documents using Revit.
• Perform mechanical/HVAC calculations including code research.
• Perform plumbing/fire protection calculations including code research.
• Write and review specifications.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs and submittals.
• Conduct site visits and manage mechanical or interdisciplinary project teams.
