Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for Mission Critical Projects to design and implement mechanical systems for data centers, labs, and critical facilities. You will work with architects and engineers, coordinate Revit BIM documents, and ensure reliability and redundancy in high-performance environments.

The role requires extensive experience in HVAC and fire protection design for complex projects, strong communication, and the ability to lead interdisciplinary teams on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or architectural engineering required.
• 10+ years in an MEP or integrated design firm on commercial/public projects including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection.
• 5+ years of design experience related to data centers.
• Proven experience designing HVAC, plumbing and fire protection on complex projects.
• Strong understanding of design and construction processes and cross-disciplinary communication.
• Experience with BIM workflows (Revit MEP).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients as part of an integrated design process.
• Create and coordinate documents using Revit.
• Perform mechanical/HVAC calculations including code research.
• Write and review specifications.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs and submittals.
• Conduct site visits as needed.
• Manage mechanical or interdisciplinary project teams.
