Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer focused on data center projects to design and coordinate mechanical systems for high-performance facilities. You will collaborate with architects and engineers and utilize Revit to deliver clean, coordinated documents.

Responsibilities include HVAC and plumbing/fire protection calculations, code research, writing specifications, reviewing submittals, site visits, and managing project teams across multiple office locations in the US.

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering required.
10+ years in MEP or integrated design on commercial/public projects.
5+ years in data center design.
Experience designing HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems on complex projects.
Knowledge of design-construction processes and cross-disciplinary communication.
Experience with BIM workflows, specifically Revit MEP.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients as part of the integrated design process.
Create and coordinate documents using Revit.
Perform mechanical/HVAC calculations including code research.
Perform plumbing/fire protection calculations including code research.
Write and review specifications.
Review shop drawings, RFIs and submittals.
Conduct site visits when needed.
Manage mechanical project teams and interdisciplinary teams.
