Job summary

Aligned Data Centers seeks an Mechanical Engineering professional to support design, execution, and operations of data center projects. You will help maintain mechanical standards, review drawings, and assist with commissioning and problem solving across teams.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, CFD and building code awareness, and travel up to 25% as needed to ensure reliable, efficient data halls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in data center or mission critical electrical and mechanical design, construction, and operations.
• EIT certification or FE test plan required.
• AutoCAD or Revit experience.
• Experience with interpreting construction drawings and equipment specifications.
• Ability to understand construction project scopes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• May travel at times up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Design: Co-author, maintain, and update mechanical technical standards; review drawings against standards.
• Execution: Review commissioning scripts, MOPs, and site observation reports; assist investigations.
• Reliability: Provide engineering troubleshooting to operations; translate concepts to non-technical partners.
• Forward vision: Engage with industry and vendors; evaluate new tech and sustainable practices; CFD/building code knowledge.
• Communications: Discuss and document complex topics with teams; communicate clearly across disciplines.
