Job summary

Woolpert seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead Mission Critical Data Center HVAC projects. The role oversees scope and schedule, performs mechanical engineering work, mentors staff, and ensures code-compliant deliverables. Requires PE; data center expertise is preferred.

Candidate should have strong communication, CFD modeling experience, and proficiency with Revit for 3D modeling and construction documents. Willing to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in engineering; PE preferred or required.
• PE license is required for practice.
• Experience with building HVAC design for diverse facilities.
• Familiarity with LEED or green building certifications.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficient with discipline software and calculation tools.
• Substantial Revit 3D modeling experience for construction docs.
• Experience QA/QC and cross-disciplinary coordination.
• Ability to read complex technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead mission critical data center HVAC and mechanical design.
• Perform cooling load calculations and equipment sizing.
• Model systems and evaluate design scenarios with CFD tools.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and present options to stakeholders.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure code-compliant deliverables.
• Develop plans and drawings for mechanical/plumbing systems.
• Present concepts during design reviews and coordination meetings.
• Mentor staff and lead training sessions when needed.
• Drive project scope and schedule with team.
• Travel to project sites or offices as needed.
