Job summary

Amphenol ICC in Etters, PA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer focused on High Speed IO connectors for data center applications. You will drive concept generation, design, verification, and qualification of hardware to meet customer requirements across electrical, mechanical, and environmental specs.

You will collaborate with global teams and suppliers, perform design for manufacturability, lead design reviews, and mentor others while ensuring smooth transitions to manufacturing and pilot

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical analysis (static and dynamic loading, torsion, compression, tension).
• Experience with risk assessment and mitigation in designs.
• Familiarity with GD&T, materials selection, and statistical engineering methods.
• Experience with mechanical and environmental testing.
• Experience with cross-functional teamwork and guiding others.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop hardware to integrate IO connectors into customer systems from proposal to qualification.
• Perform DFMEA, tolerance analysis, FEA, and risk assessment.
• Collaborate with marketing and customers to define requirements and assess risk.
• Coordinate with internal/external manufacturing (stamping, plating, molding, assembly) to optimize production readiness.
• Lead design reviews and ensure drawings use GD&T correctly.
• Mentor global team members during development and provide feedback to suppliers.
