Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Data Center Maintenance Technician in New Jersey to support hyperscale data center operations. You will perform preventative maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, and precision repairs on UPS systems, generators, and HVAC units to maximize uptime, following strict safety protocols.

The role requires 1–2 years of related experience, good communication, and strong organizational skills. On-site work with standard corporate facilities, focusing on reliability and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience in critical infrastructure.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
• Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and monitoring of hyperscale data center infrastructure—including UPS, generators, and cooling—ensuring maximum uptime.
• Review assigned work orders and track completion with available systems.
• Support energy management by ensuring all building systems operate efficiently.
• Inspect installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
• Exchange straightforward information in a clear, concise manner.
