Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an HVAC Project Manager to lead data center / critical environment projects from planning through closeout. You will coordinate with customers, sales, service operations, and subcontractors to ensure on-time delivery, safety, and quality.

The role requires 5+ years in HVAC/data center projects, strong leadership, and experience managing budgets and schedules. A PMP or related credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• 5+ years of experience managing HVAC, mechanical, critical environment, or data center projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, controls, commissioning, and construction processes.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, and subcontractors.
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer relationship skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of HVAC projects from project turnover through final closeout.
• Develop project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
• Coordinate activities between customers, sales teams, service operations, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Monitor project financial performance, including revenue, margins, forecasting, billing, and cost control.
• Manage project risks, issues, and change orders while maintaining project profitability.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, contractual requirements, and industry standards.
• Conduct regular project review meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee equipment procurement, material deliveries, site logistics, and subcontractor performance.
• Support field teams by resolving technical, scheduling, and operational challenges.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, schedules, and customer communications.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate project commissioning, startup activities, punch list completion, and project closeout.
