Job summary

Milestone Technologies, Inc. seeks a Data Center Hardware Technician L2 in Columbus, Georgia for a 6-month W2 contract-to-hire engagement. The role focuses on server break/fix, rack-and-stack, and structured cabling in a fast-paced data center environment.

You will own moderately complex incidents, support junior technicians, and contribute improvements to SOPs, MOPs, and documentation. On-site Monday–Friday with potential on-call duties; pay up to $42/hr and on-call stipends.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on data center server hardware break-fix experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Linux-based systems, including command-line troubleshooting.
• Intermediate knowledge of server architecture, diagnostics, hardware replacement, cabling, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with ticketing systems and accurate technical documentation.
• Ability to follow SOPs/MOPs and identify process gaps.
• Residence within commuting distance of Columbus, GA, or ability to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Install, deploy, replace, and decommission server hardware and related data center equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware incidents and service requests.
• Perform device and system configuration activities with quality checks.
• Document troubleshooting, parts used, and results in ticketing system.
• Escalate unclear instructions and risks per SOPs.
• Own moderate complexity tickets from diagnosis to handoff.
