Job summary

Jacobs seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support its rapidly growing Data Center practice. You will lead fire protection design across projects, perform code analyses, and ensure life safety compliance for mission-critical facilities.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in fire protection with strong NFPA/IBC/IFC knowledge and excellent communication skills to collaborate with clients, AHJs, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related, with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience designing fire protection for large industrial, commercial, mission-critical, or data center facilities.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, IBC, IFC, FM Global data sheets, OSHA and local codes.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, mentor staff and communicate with executives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients and AHJs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Fire Protection Engineer for Data Center and Mission Critical projects.
• Provide fire protection system design, code analysis, and life safety engineering.
• Establish project fire protection design criteria, basis of design reports, and technical standards.
• Participate in design reviews and QA/QC across multiple projects.
• Coordinate fire protection designs with other disciplines and interface with AHJs and clients.
• Support business development, proposals, and bid efforts in the Data Center market.
