Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support the Data Center practice across multiple projects in the United States. You will collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, AHJs, and leadership teams to develop innovative fire protection designs that meet stringent reliability and code requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
• 5+ years of fire protection engineering experience
• NFPA Codes and Standards, IBC/IFC knowledge
• Experience designing fire suppression systems for large facilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as Fire Protection Engineer for Data Center and Mission Critical projects
• Provide fire protection system design, code analysis, and life safety engineering
• Establish project fire protection criteria and technical design standards
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and interfaces with clients/AHJs
• Support large-scale campus master planning and data center hyperscale projects
• Assist project managers with scope, budgets, and schedules
• Contribute to business development in the Data Center market
• Stay current with emerging fire protection technologies and codes
