Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support our rapidly growing Data Center practice. The role involves designing fire protection systems for mission-critical facilities, performing code analyses, and collaborating across disciplines to meet stringent reliability and safety standards.

You will work with clients and AHJs to obtain approvals, develop design criteria, and contribute to business development efforts in the Data Center market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of fire protection engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or NICET certification are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Fire Protection Engineer for Data Center and Mission Critical projects.
• Provide fire protection system design, code analysis, and life safety engineering.
• Establish project fire protection design criteria, basis of design reports, and technical standards.
• Coordinate fire protection designs with mechanical, electrical, structural, civil, and architectural disciplines.
• Interface directly with clients, AHJs, and project teams to obtain approvals and resolve technical issues.
