Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support our growing Data Center practice across the U.S. You will collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and AHJs to develop innovative fire protection designs that meet stringent reliability, operational, and code requirements.

You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams, perform hydraulic calculations, and shape fire protection strategies for hyperscale data center developments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of fire protection engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or NICET certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Fire Protection Engineer for Data Center and Mission Critical projects.
• Provide fire protection system design, code analysis, and life safety engineering.
• Establish project fire protection design criteria and technical standards.
• Participate in design reviews and QA/QC across multiple projects.
• Perform hydraulic calculations for site fire water distribution and sprinkler systems.
• Coordinate fire protection designs with mechanical, electrical, structural, civil, and architectural disciplines.
• Interface with clients, AHJs, and insurers to secure approvals and resolve issues.
• Support large-scale campus master planning and hyperscale data center developments.
