Jacobs is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support its rapid growth in the Data Center practice. This role spans multiple projects nationwide, with a focus on fire protection design, code compliance, and life safety for mission-critical facilities.

You will collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, AHJs, and internal teams to deliver reliable fire protection solutions, develop design criteria, and lead multidisciplinary efforts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of fire protection engineering experience.
• PE license and/or NICET certifications are preferred credentials.
• Bachelor's in Fire Protection or related field required.

Responsabilités

• Serve as Fire Protection Engineer for Data Center and Mission Critical projects.
• Provide fire protection design, code analysis, and life safety engineering.
• Establish design criteria, basis of design reports, and standards.
• Participate in design reviews and QA/QC across projects.
• Conduct NFPA/IBC/IFC code evaluations and interpretations.
• Develop suppression concepts: water-based sprinklers, pumps, storage, pre-action, clean agent, special hazards.
• Perform hydraulic calculations for water distribution, pumps, tanks, and sprinklers.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, structural, civil, and architectural teams.
• Interface with clients, insurers, AHJs for approvals and issue resolution.
• Support campus master planning and hyperscale data center strategies.
• Assist PMs with scope, staffing, budgets, schedules, and risk management.
• Support proposals and BD activities in Data Center market.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and codes for mission-critical facilities.
