Job summary

IES is seeking a Senior Field Engineer – Data Center Services to install and operate low-voltage/structured cabling systems. You will troubleshoot equipment, interpret drawings, and manage field activities with limited supervision on complex data center projects.

Your role includes creating shop drawings, supporting project kick-offs, and coordinating with estimators and sales for accurate proposals. Strong communication and multitasking are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3–4 years of commercial low voltage/structured cabling experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems in the field in a senior service support role.
• Read and interpret complex system drawings, specifications and manuals; prepare shop drawings and submittals.
• Lead execution of field work with minimal supervision and coordinate with project managers.
• Oversee technical aspects of projects and ensure quality, test equipment, and create punch lists.
• Assist sales with product and system demonstrations; document field conditions and inform bid strategies.
• Travel within branch or regional territory as needed.
