Job summary

JLL in Amarillo, TX is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer for Data Center Facilities to oversee operations and maintenance of mission-critical environments, working with the Chief Engineer to drive reliability and efficiency.

You will supervise engineers and technicians, manage preventive maintenance, monitor power, cooling, and network infrastructure, and ensure safety, security, and regulatory compliance across sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in data center operations and management.
• Strong knowledge of power, cooling, and network infrastructure.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, TIA, and Uptime Institute standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and leadership abilities.
• Valid driver's license.
• Certifications in CDCP/DCPRO or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee data center facility operations with the Chief Engineer.
• Mentor engineers, technicians, and contractors.
• Monitor critical systems performance (power, cooling, network).
• Develop preventive maintenance plans.
• Ensure safety, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Support capacity planning and upgrade projects.
• Prepare reports for management and clients.
• Respond to incidents including after-hours.
