Job summary

JLL is hiring an Assistant Chief Engineer - Critical Environments in Claude, TX to lead data center facility operations and maintenance. You will work with the Chief Engineer to optimize performance, reliability, and efficiency of critical infrastructure, including power, cooling, and networks.

You will mentor engineers and technicians, manage incidents, and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and high availability for mission-critical environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center operations and management.
• Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling, and network architecture.
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices (e.g., ASHRAE, TIA, Uptime Institute).
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Proficiency in using facility management software and building automation systems.
• Valid certification in at least one relevant area (e.g., CDCP, DCPRO, or equivalent).
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing data center facility operations and maintenance activities.
• Supervise and mentor technical staff, including engineers, technicians, and contractors.
• Monitor and analyze critical systems performance (power, cooling, network).
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure upgrade projects.
• Respond to and manage critical incidents and emergencies.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for management and clients.
