Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer for Data Centers to oversee data center facilities, lead technical teams, and optimize reliability and efficiency. You will work with the Chief Engineer on operations and maintenance, and drive performance improvements across power, cooling, and network systems.

The role requires strong leadership, 5+ years in data center ops, and familiarity with standards like ASHRAE and Uptime Institute.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data center operations and management.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, TIA, Uptime Institute standards.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Leadership and team management experience.
• Proficiency with building automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing and coordinating data center facility operations and maintenance.
• Supervise technical staff including engineers and technicians.
• Monitor critical systems: power, cooling, and network infrastructure.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Ensure safety, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in capacity planning and upgrade projects.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and clients.
• Serve as first contact for service-impacting events in electrical distribution.
• Assist in troubleshooting and incident mitigation.
• Contribute to root cause analyses (RCAs).
• Provide after-hours support as needed (24x7).
