Job summary

R+L Carriers’ Information Technology Department seeks a Data Center Facilities Engineer in Columbus, Ohio to oversee building operations, HVAC, electrical, BMS, emergency generators and fire/safety systems. You will monitor performance, lead preventive maintenance, and ensure safety compliance while coordinating with internal teams on improvements.

The role requires experience in mission critical data center facilities, strong documentation skills, and the ability to analyze complex project

Qualifications

• Proven experience in data center mission critical facilities operations.
• Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret complex project documents (AutoCAD, Visio, PDFs).
• Manage projects effectively and develop installation standards and tracking documents.
• Interact with managers, clients and vendors; write SOPs/MOPs for automated building controls.
• Strong commitment to customer service in a facilities context.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance of data center components (HVAC, electrical, grounds, generators, UPS, fire/life safety).
• Audit and reporting on the data center operations.
• Perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs.
• Prepare analyses, project plans and briefings; report findings.
• Coordinate with internal teams; conduct RCA and CA for design issues.
