Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain mission-critical facilities and power and cooling infrastructure.

The role includes powering standby generators, three-phase electrical systems, UPS/PDUs, CRAC units, chillers, cooling towers, water systems, and related equipment. Responsibilities include daily rounds, BMS/EPMS monitoring, troubleshooting with SLAs, rack installs/decoms, PMs, and coordinating with contractors.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience in data centers or similar facilities.
• Travel between data center locations as needed; willingness to relocate temporarily for training.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including days, nights, and weekends; physically capable of lifting up to 39 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and safety systems.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform rack installations and decommissioning; conduct preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Support change management with technical documentation; coordinate with contractors and vendors.
