Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to safeguard mission-critical infrastructure and maintain 99.999% uptime across AWS facilities.

You will work on standby diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems, UPS, PDUs, CRAC, chillers, cooling towers, and fire/life safety systems, with on-site responsibilities and potential multi-site assignments. The role involves varied shifts, travel between data centers, and collaboration with vendors and site teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance.
• 2+ years Microsoft Office experience.
• Willingness to travel between data center locations and work across sites.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor and record electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
• Perform rack installs and rack decommissioning within internal SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution; execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with procedures & local legislation.
• Shift changes up to 12 hours; possible on-call rotations; role may span multiple locations.
