Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is hiring a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission-critical data center facilities.

You will support three-phase electrical systems, standby generators, UPS, PDUs, switchgear, cooling equipment, and fire/life-safety systems to sustain 99.999% uptime. You’ll join a cross-functional team of engineers and technicians, travel between sites as needed, and work up to 12-hour shifts with on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical, or 1+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience.
• 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and repair of equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management.
• On-site support of contractors and vendors per procedures & local laws.
• Work shifts up to 12 hours and possible on-call rotations.
