Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an on-site Data Center Engineer to support critical infrastructure in active data centers.

You will perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on electrical and mechanical systems, including generators, switchgear, UPS, PDU, and cooling equipment. The role requires you to work rotating shifts, handle on-site contractor coordination, and ensure safety and compliance across facilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of practical experience in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or fire suppression systems.
• Knowledge of building management or power management systems is a plus.
• Willingness to work long shifts and on-site at data centers.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor BMS and EPMS systems.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning per SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and repair of electrical/mechanical equipment.
• Create technical documentation for change management.
