Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission-critical facility equipment across AWS data centers.

You will work with electrical systems, diesel generators, UPS, PDUs, cooling towers, and life-safety systems to ensure high uptime and safety. The role requires hands-on maintenance, on-site support for contractors, and flexibility for shifts up to 12 hours with potential on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical facilities maintenance or 1+ years of mechanical facilities experience.
• Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.
• Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training or until a facility is operational.
• 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and life-safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLAs.
• Conduct PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Prepare technical documentation to support change management.
