Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is hiring a Data Center Engineering Technician in Reno, NV. The role focuses on hands-on maintenance of critical electrical and mechanical systems in our data centers, ensuring high reliability.

You will work with a diverse team to troubleshoot, document changes, and support 24/7 operations across multiple facilities. This position requires travel between sites and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• MS Office products experience.
• Willingness to travel between data center locations as needed.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and life-safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems and Electrical Power Management System.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Create technical documentation to support change management.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with practices and local laws.
• Support site rotations and potential travel between sites.
