Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to join our Reno, NV operation. This role is on-site and focuses on hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance of mission-critical facilities, including generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, and cooling systems.

You will work with BMS/EPMS to ensure 24/7 reliability and support vendors and contractors. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of related experience, can travel between sites, and are flexible for extended shifts or on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
• Execute PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Support change management with technical documentation.
• Coordinate work requests and manage projects from conception to completion.
• Provide on-site support to contractors and vendors per established procedures.
