Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is hiring a Data Center Engineering Technician in California to safeguard and maintain mission‑critical infrastructure.

You will monitor and service electrical, mechanical, and fire/safety systems, including BMS/EPMS, and support change management with precise documentation. The role requires 2+ years in electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance, plus flexibility for variable shifts and travel to active data centers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance.
• 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• Work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Prepare technical documentation to support change management.
• Handle service requests and manage projects from concept to completion.
• Provide on-site support for contractors and vendors per established procedures.
• Shifts up to 12 hours and possible rotation; may support multiple locations.
