Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain mission-critical infrastructure including standby diesel generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, chillers, cooling towers, and fire/life safety systems.

You will perform rounds, troubleshoot, and support change management. This on-site role requires willingness to travel between data center locations, and the ability to work 12-hour shifts with on-call rotations; relocation stipend may be

Qualifications

Willingness to travel between data center locations.
Able to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 39 pounds.
Willingness to work shifts up to 12 hours and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
Carry out PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of equipment.
Prepare technical writings to support change management.
Manage daily work requests and drive projects from conception to completion.
Provide on-site support to contractors and vendors per procedures and local legislation.
Role may involve travel between multiple sites and shift rotations.
