Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission-critical facility equipment across AWS data centers. You will work with stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, cooling systems, and fire/life safety gear to help ensure 99.999% uptime and reliable service worldwide.

This frontline role involves on-site collaboration with contractors, adherence to safety practices, and potential relocation support.

Qualifications

2+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance.
2+ years of Microsoft Office products experience.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights and holidays.
2+ years of data center engineering experience.
Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents and engineering drawings.
Vocational/technical training or an associate degree or 4+ years of military experience.

Responsibilities

Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and EPMS.
Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLA.
Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
Technical writing to support change management.
