Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in the United States (Ohio, New Albany) seeks a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical data center facilities, including diesel generators, UPS, PDUs, chillers, cooling towers, and fire/life safety systems.

This role reports to a Data Center Facility Manager and offers a front-line, hands-on engineering position within AWS infrastructure. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance,

Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance.
• 2+ years of Microsoft Office products experience.
• Willingness to travel to active data center sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
• Perform rack installs and rack decommissioning within internal SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution; execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with practices and local regulations.
• Work schedule changes up to 12 hours; some locations have rotations; may support multiple sites.
