Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join the team that maintains and operates mission-critical data center infrastructure. You will perform hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance, monitor critical systems, and troubleshoot issues to ensure continuous availability.

The role involves flexible shifts (day and night), on-call rotations, and collaboration with facility managers and vendors.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of practical experience in electrical or mechanical systems, HVAC, or fire suppression.
• Knowledge of network design and low voltage cabling.
• Experience in data center engineering.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and EPMS.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and repair of equipment.
• Support change management with technical writing.
• Manage daily work requests and drive projects to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, ensuring compliance with practices and local law.
