Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join a frontline team responsible for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment in our global data centers. You will handle standby generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, AHUs, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation, with 24/7 coverage on rotating 12 hour shifts.

The role requires a US citizen with an active Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility.

Qualifications

2+ years of relevant work experience.
Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Knowledge of network design and low voltage cabling.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment within the data center.
Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
Perform maintenance tasks including filter changes, HVAC PMs, and rack PDU/ATS replacements.
Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians.
Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
Ensure safety procedures are followed during work.
Work 12 hour shifts with rotating days/nights.
Take daily readings of critical systems and manage work orders in CMMS.
Supervise contractors who perform maintenance.
Respond to off-hour emergency calls per on-call rotation.
