Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks an on-site Data Center Engineering Operations professional to monitor and maintain critical electrical and mechanical systems across our data centers.

You will perform rounds, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with contractors to ensure uptime and safety. The role requires working in 24/7 schedules with potential 12-hour shifts and on-call rotations, focusing on PM, fault analysis, and change management documentation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of practical experience in electrical systems, mechanical systems, HVAC, and/or fire suppression systems.
• Work shifts longer than eight hours in duration.
• Knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage cabling.
• Experience in data center engineering.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor BMS and EPMS, troubleshoot facility and rack events within SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management.
• Manage daily work requests, coordinate projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors and vendors per established practices and local laws.
