Job summary

LightEdge is seeking a Senior Director, Data Center Engineering to lead the company’s data center design and expansion program. You will own design standards, drive value engineering, and ensure reliability, safety, and lifecycle performance across multiple sites.

You will coordinate with executives, safety, and operations teams, oversee third‑party design partners, and provide technical leadership for portfolio growth, cost reduction, and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, architectural engineering, construction management, facilities engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in data center engineering, mission-critical facilities, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of critical power, cooling, controls, and data center operating practices.
• Ability to lead consultants, contractors, and cross-functional stakeholders while maintaining technical accountability.
• Experience with value engineering, cost benchmarking, and lifecycle cost optimization for data centers.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain standard data center design criteria across electrical, mechanical, and security domains.
• Lead buildout, expansion, and modernization efforts, including reviews of constructability, maintainability, and energy performance.
• Direct third-party design teams and contractors to meet cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
• Evaluate acquisitions, leases, and major capacity opportunities with technical diligence and risk assessment.
• Coordinate commissioning, turnover, and ongoing operational readiness for facilities across multiple sites.
