Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Texas is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to safeguard mission-critical facilities and maintain 99.999% uptime. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, manage racks, and support change management with detailed documentation in a fast-paced data center environment.

This role requires hands-on experience, willingness to travel between sites, and flexibility for shifts, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical and/or mechanical facilities maintenance experience.
• 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems and record findings.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Provide technical writing to support changes in the change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and drive to resolution; manage projects from concept to completion.
• Provide on-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors in line with practices and local regulations.
• Role may involve shifts up to 12 hours and rotation; some locations have on-call rotations.
• Role may support multiple locations/sites.
