Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers require skilled engineers to maintain and troubleshoot critical facilities. The Data Center Engineering Technician role covers electrical and mechanical systems, UPS, generators, cooling, and safety, with a focus on 99.999% uptime and safe operations.

You will perform rounds, monitor BMS/EPMS, install racks, perform PM, and coordinate with contractors. The role may require travel between data centers in Ohio and possibly other sites, with shifts up to 12

Qualifications

• Work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, or holidays.
• 2+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance experience.
• 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices, procedures & local legislation.
• Work schedule changes depending on site needs; shifts up to 12 hours and may rotate; some locations on-call.
• Role may support more than one location/site.
• Travel between data center locations as needed.
