Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical data center infrastructure across multiple sites.

The role focuses on electrical and mechanical systems, diesel generators, and facility support operations to sustain 99.999% uptime. Responsibilities include monitoring BMS/EPMS, performing PM tasks, and supporting change management, with travel between data centers as needed and potential on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to travel between data center locations as needed.
• Willingness to work shifts up to 12 hours and participate in on-call rotations.
• Ability to lift up to 39 pounds and perform construction tasks on ladders.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and EPMS.
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLAs.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Prepare technical documentation to support change-management processes.
• Coordinate daily work requests and drive projects from conception to completion.
• Provide on-site support to contractors, subcontractors and vendors in line with practices and regulations.
