Job summary

Epsilon is seeking a Data Center Engineer to manage day-to-day operations at our Illinois data center campuses. You will install and decommission servers, perform rack builds, and monitor infrastructure to ensure uptime.

The role requires physical ability to lift 75 pounds, strong troubleshooting, and collaboration with provisioning teams. On-site 5 days a week, you’ll handle inventory, documentation, and small project execution while maintaining security and SLA adherence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in a data center environment.
• Knowledge of data center power types and standards.
• Troubleshooting servers, networking devices and IT equipment.
• Ability to lift at least 75 pounds for rack installation.
• Knowledge of Dell iDRAC and PowerEdge servers.
• Inventory management including ordering, receiving, and shipping server parts.
• Strong interest in learning new DC concepts.
• Ability to prioritize work based on business needs and urgency.
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
• Team player, dependable and trustworthy.
• Experience taking on-call shifts and escalating issues as needed.

Responsibilities

• Hardware installation & decommission of servers and cabling infrastructure.
• Troubleshooting and repair of DC hardware and networking equipment.
• Rack and stack of DC equipment (servers, networking devices, monitors).
• Rack installation, cabling, power up and handoff to provisioning teams.
• Monitoring DC environments and responding to tickets in a shared system.
• Documenting activities and updating SOPs as needed.
• Decommission lifecycle of DC hardware; manage asset inventory.
• Receive/ship DC equipment; maintain accurate records.
• Plan and execute small projects with manager supervision.
