Job summary

Meta is seeking a seasoned Energy Manager to lead commercial energy activities for our data center portfolio in the United States. You will manage relationships with utilities, pipelines, and market operators, negotiate agreements, and coordinate gas supply and transport to support capacity expansion.

You will analyze market fundamentals, influence regulatory outcomes, and collaborate with legal, site selection, and operations teams to implement bridge power and on-site solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience navigating commercial energy issues across electricity and/or natural gas.
• Experience representing business interests to leaders of suppliers, utilities, pipelines, governments and regulators.
• Knowledge of transmission, distribution, and utility interconnection, plus gas transportation/storage.
• Experience negotiating energy supply or fuel agreements (PPAs, ESAs, tariffs, gas contracts).
• Experience managing multiple projects with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to communicate commercial, regulatory, market and contractual details to all levels.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, etc.

Responsibilities

• Actively manage commercial relationships for data centers in diverse US energy markets.
• Influence rate-making and energy supply solutions with utilities and market operators.
• Develop relationships with utility partners, regulators, policymakers and stakeholders.
• Negotiate and deliver new commercial agreements for electricity, generation and fuel supply.
• Source, negotiate and execute natural gas supply, transport and storage agreements.
• Support bridge power, on-site generation and behind-the-meter projects.
• Evaluate gas market fundamentals and translate into siting and cost recommendations.
• Partner with legal to refine commercial arrangements and ensure reliability.
• Collaborate with Site Selection to identify energy-ready data center locations.
• Interface with internal teams across data center, sustainability, policy, design, finance.
• Support development and execution of Meta's energy supply strategy for data centers.
• Stay informed on power and gas market developments and communicate trends.
• Lead and support energy projects as needed.
• Domestic travel likely ~25%.
