Job summary

Meta | The Energy Team seeks a commercially experienced energy professional to manage data center energy supply across regulated and market environments in the United States. This role focuses on electricity and natural gas transactions, regulatory interactions, and utility/pipeline relationships to support capacity planning and cost-effective, sustainable energy delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years navigating commercial energy issues across electricity and/or natural gas.
• Experience representing business interests to leadership teams of suppliers, utilities, pipelines, regulators, and other stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of transmission, distribution, interconnection processes, and natural gas transportation/storage.
• Experience negotiating energy supply or fuel agreements (PPAs, ESAs, tariffs, or gas supply/transport).
• Experience managing multiple projects with internal staff, utility/pipeline providers, consultants, and external stakeholders.
• Experience communicating technical, regulatory, market, and contractual details to all organizational levels.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, etc.

Responsibilities

• Actively manage data center energy market relationships in the United States, including utilities, generators, and gas pipelines.
• Influence rate-making and energy supply solutions offered by utilities and market operators, including gas tariffs and rate cases.
• Develop relationships with utility partners, market participants, regulators, policymakers, and stakeholders.
• Negotiate and deliver new commercial agreements spanning electricity, generation, and fuel supply arrangements.
• Source, negotiate, and execute natural gas supply, transportation, and storage agreements.
• Support development of bridge power, on-site generation, and behind-the-meter projects.
• Evaluate gas market fundamentals and generation economics to inform siting and contracting decisions.
• Collaborate with legal to refine commercial arrangements for facilities and reliability.
